Read the scripture and ask the Lord to teach you His truth through what you read. Then read the commentary, but remember that God's Word is always more important than anything I or any other person may write.
Matthew 7:13-14
Matthew 11:28
John 14:6
Acts 4:9-12
Before I was saved, I always had an uneasy feeling that something was missing. I tried filling that sense of emptiness with everything the world had to offer. Still, I did not feel like a whole person. I had an emptiness inside. Life seemed ultimately pointless. I kept ever more busy. I ignored and denied the void in me. I pursued all the things that were supposed make me happy. But in the secret place deep inside, I was not happy. I was not whole.
I wonder now that I struggled with these feelings for so long. Why was I so sure I didn't need God, that I could find happiness and fulfillment on my own? I was living life to the fullest, merrily and enthusiastically hurrying through life to hell. I was going with the world down the easy highway, toward ultimate destruction.
Yet all the while, the Holy Spirit was revealing His truth to me. I ran from it. I denied it. I avoided it. But truth is truth. My actions or what I choose to believe does not change it.
I finally came to my senses and could no longer deny the despair in my heart. I came to realize that all the fun, all the entertainment, all the possessions...if this was all there was to life, it just wasn't worth the trouble of living. It was then that I said, "God, if You are real, and You want my life, You can have it." At that moment, I accepted that Jesus was Lord, that He was the only answer, and I began going in a different direction. I began following Jesus. For the first time, I was whole. I was no longer a slave to sin.
Jesus set me free. I serve my Lord Jesus because He made me whole. He is the Way to life, real, abundant, satisfying life. The life we were all created to live. Living for Jesus is not burdensome, it is fulfilling in unimaginable ways.

The most important decision you will ever make, the most important thing you will ever do, is to accept Jesus as your Savior and give your life to Him. Nothing else in this life really matters except this one decision. My only regret is that I didn't begin my journey with Him sooner. Accept Him today, while you have today. Don't put it off. You do not know if you will have tomorrow. But more than that, every day you deny Him and continue in a life bound by sin is a day wasted, another day living with that empty place in your heart. Listen and respond to the call of the Holy Spirit in your heart. Find out what it is to live the life you were created to live.
