The voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?"

"All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the

flower of the field.  The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it;

Surely the people are grass.

The grass withers, the flower fades,

But the Word of our God stands forever."

Isaiah 40:6-8 (NKJV)

Commentary:

       It's so easy to get caught up in the "real" world we live in.  More and more I realize that the only real thing is my Lord.  Everything else I  have or know will change.  Things wear out, deteriorate, are lost or replaced.  People come and go in and out of our lives.  Nothing, absolutely nothing, stays the same, except the Lord.  The things of this earth are all temporary.  The things of God last forever.  The things of God in my life are far more important than anything in this temporary world.  Christ followers! This life and its illusion of reality will soon cease to exist.  Either the Lord will take us home with physical death or He will return for us.  We will soon stand before our Lord.  Don't squander the brief time He gives us here on worldly desires and concerns.

Only one life, twill soon be past

Only what's done for Christ will last.

In God is my salvation and my glory;  The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
