Week 4/27-5/2/2025

Suggested Scriptures to Ponder this week:

Ephesians 1:3-6
Psalm 23:8-9

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.              Ephesians 1:3-6

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!  There is no want to those who fear Him.                      Psalm 34:8-9

Commentary:

Happiness, peace and contentment comes from fulfilling our destiny.  We were created to live in harmony with God.  He wants to adopt everyone into His family (I Peter 3:9; John 3:16).  God offers peace (Philippians 4:7) and joy (I Peter 1:8) and satisfaction (Psalm 34:9).  Our spirit longs to be united with our heavenly Father.  Thus when we rebel and reject God, our spirit is troubled.  Our spirit and soul fight each other.  We can try to deny God and silence the witness of our own spirit, but this only leads us away from our created destiny.  We struggle to find fulfillment without God, but it can't be done (Romans 1:18-32).  We can only have true happiness, peace, joy, contentment and fulfillment through a right relationship with God our creator.

In God is my salvation and my glory;  The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:7  (NKJV)
